Egypt (Eyewitness Travel Guides)
Customer Reviews:
This is a great first book to begin an understanding of Egypt before travel. It covers all major areas in extensive detail; provides suggestions for the best places to visit while in the country; detail pics of what to look for at various sites;and the last category on travel tips I found invaluable. it is current (2008 ed) and I like the size of the book, which can be tucked in to a carry-on bag or a back-pack while touring and doesn’t weigh a ton. “Don’t leave home without it!”
While this book has a lot of pretty pics, and a bit of information, I found the lonely planet guide to have about three times as much information on any given area, and cover more of the obscure places in Egypt.
Great guide! Well organized with wonderful photos, illustrations, & maps. Took it to Egypt with me. Still use it as a reference now that I’m home.
This guide is easy to use and to find the ways thru Egypt bests, the best option aviable. On future editions it must have more restaurants indications also a chapter about connectivity like wi-fi, mobile phone for rent, hotels with connections and so. But, no other guide provide this…. It’s pays every cent.
The pics and historical information are what made me decide to take this with me on my trip. I still like Lonely Planet, though, because they help you form a better plan for how you’ll get around and the best route to take.
